The Board of Directors consists of volunteers representing multiple schools and school districts served by our organization.
Lana Howe, Chair – Lana’s passion in life is her two daughters – Grace who is in college, and Lillyana who is in high school. Together, with her husband Greg of over 20 years, the family enjoys time outdoors, particularly camping. In addition, Lana believes a little volunteering never hurt anyone, and she is passionate about helping the greater community. She sees Bags of Hope as one of many ways to help many who get overlooked – the children.
Desirée Vernooij, Vice Chair – Desiree and her husband of over 25 years came to the US in 2007. Together, they have three children. With not being able to work, Desiree finds ways to help the community in which she lives. She is passionate about helping the most precious people in our society, the children. With Bags of Hope, Desiree is able to fulfill part of the needs innocent children are battling, especially hunger.
Stephanie Jerabek, Secretary – Stephanie and her husband, Todd, have been together for over 18 years, and live in Plainfield. They have two children in high school. Stephanie and her family are passionate about helping others, and seek unique ways to benefit their greater community.
Gina Madden, Legal Counsel – Gina’s interests outside of practicing law go in a completely different direction, as she maintains her passion in motocross, teaching yoga, and participating in “spartan runs.” Gina enjoys being active and serving the greater good in her community. In the legal field, you will be hard pressed to find an attorney as passionate and interested in helping those around you as Gina does through the Law Offices of Gina Madden.
Debra Rauscher, Accountant – Debra resides in the far west suburbs of Chicago with her three amazing children. In addition to running her own business, Back Office Rescue, Debra enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at her church, and supporting the Society of St. Vincent DePaul to help others in need.
